Herbert Clayton Knotts

Herbert Clayton Knotts, served as a Private with the Infantry, United States Army during World War II. He enlisted in the Army on 17 January 1944 in Camden, New Jersey. Herbert was declared "Missing In Action" in France, on 10 September 1944. He had served in the Army for seven months at the time of his death and was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Herbert Knotts' name is placed on the "Tablets of the Missing" in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial located in Lorraine, France. Mr. Knotts was only one, of the approximately 100 men from the CHFCo. to serve our country during WWII.
