Residential Fire: Faulkland Heights

On 27 February 2004 at 13:56 hours, the Cranston Heights Fire Company (Station-14) along with the Mill Creek Fire Company (Stations 2 & 21) were dispatched, via the NCC 911 Center, for a Residential Fire, located at 2201 Inman Drive, in the development of Faulkland Heights. Engine 14-5, under the command of Rescue Captain Dennis R. Hitchens (14-C2) responded with a crew of six (6). While in route, Captain Hitchens reported a heavy smoke condition in the area, from Albertson Boulevard and Greenbank Road. His report upgraded the incident to a "Working Alarm", adding Belvedere, Elsmere, Five Points and Minquas Fire Companies. CHFCo. Engine 14-5 was the first unit on scene and Captain Hitchens confirmed a "Working Fire" with heavy fire showing and had his crew deploy 1 3/4" hose lines, as they were joined by the Mill Creek FC first arriving unit. The fire was contained to the single-family dwelling, but caused an estimated $100,000 in damages. Responding units also included; Medic-5, FM-8 and NCCPD (Hitchens)
