Residential Fire: Brookside Park (Assist Aetna H.H.& L. Co.)

On 12 March 2014 at 1138 hours, the Cranston Heights Fire Company (Station-14) along with other mutual aid units were dispatched, via the New Castle Co. 911 Center, to assist the Aetna H.H.&L. Company of Newark (Stations 7-8-9-10) with an Engine and Rescue, on a "Working" Residential Fire at #44 Kullen Drive, in the Brookside Park Development. Engine 14-3 responded with a crew of (4) and Rescue-14 responded with a crew of (5). Upon arrival, as the 3rd Due Engine, 14-3 was initially assigned as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), until the arrival of the unit dispatched as the RIT Company. Rescue-14 arrived and was assigned as the 1st Due "Special Service"; pulling ceilings and assisting Aetna Engines 9-5 & 8-2 (1st & 2nd Due Engines from Newark) with Fire Suppression and Overhaul. Upon Command placing the Situation Under Control, Station-14 Units remained on scene an additional 71 minutes in order to assist the units of Aetna H.H.&L. with taking up equipment.
